For the Gmap, you have to imagine the station being at the center of the map.
A dynamic map may come one day, meanwhile watch the one done by ESA
just below or view it
on their website. There's
another one here.
Live streams (no autoload mode)
You will have to start the streams manually.
The streams may take a while to start !
If the streams really won't play, watch them directly on Ustream:
ISS cam 1 (with comms, top left) -
ISS cam 2 (HDEV, top right)
The ESA ISS real time tracker (bottom left) is available
here.
Less information
Not only can you watch the Earth, sometimes you can see ISS parts, especially when they move the camera. Solar panels, ISS modules, ...
The cam1 is the most interesting. Sometimes they stream some experiences (I've seen things in rotation, the output was probably from an elecronic microscope).
But most interesting, audio comms are sometimes broadcasted ! They are between Houston Mission Control or Moscow Station Control and the ISS. Russian comms are translated.
Comms can be about various problems needing an AstroCosmonaut intervention, information requests or scientific reports of experiences.
AstroCosmonauts and Comms Officers names are often pronounced, so you know who's talking (
current crew).
